The Fire and Aviation Directorate (FAD) provides leadership and direction to a wide range of program areas, which include Fire Operations, Fire Aviation, Fuels Management/Fire Planning, Fire Safety, Fire Training, and Equal Employment Opportunity/Human Resources.  Collectively, these programs contribute to safe and efficient wildland fire management, rehabilitation of burned landscapes, implementation of Secretarial and Presidential priorities, and participating in integrated vegetation management practices with other Bureau Divisions.  Outcomes of the work accomplished by the FAD include improved wildland fire management effectiveness, cross-boundary planning with partners, continuation of resilient landscapes, reduction in hazardous fuel conditions, and implementation of the National Cohesive Wildland Fire Management Strategy.
