Mining Law, Minerals Subject to Location, Gypsite

Gypsite was distinguished as being a chemical as well as a physical amendment to soils. Gypsite reacts with alkaline soils to somewhat reduce alkalinity and there is an ion exchange and a change in the calcium and sodium ion ratio. Therefore, gypsite was considered to be locatable unlike such phys.ical amendments as blow sand and decomposed granite.
