Effects of Forest Fertilization on Water Quality in Two Small Oregon Watersheds
This study was initiated to determine the effect on the quality of streamflow by aerial fertilization of forested watersheds with urea. The Public Health Service has set a standard for nitrate ions (NG3) plus nitrite ions (NO2) in drinking water of 10 milligrams per liter. The objective of this study was to determine how much the concentration of nitrate and nitrite ions in streamflow would be increased following forest fertilization.
