Hydrology and the Universal Soil Loss Equation: Application to Rangelands
The interactions between hydrology and erosion associated with the Universal Soil Loss Equation (USLE) are developed and discussed. It is argued that runoff plays an important but underappreciated role, and that certain problems encountered in USLE use can be so attributed. The site and climatic conditions encountered on rangelands exaggerate these difficulties. Some avenues for future research and use are suggested and explored.
